BYLAW SERVICES

MISSION STATEMENT

Bylaw Services Mission is to uphold the Bylaws of the Municipality by working in an amicable partnership with the public and other agencies for the purpose of preserving the peace and good order of the community through education, compliance and unbiased application of the Law.

MANDATE

The mandate of the Bylaw Services Department is to seek compliance, promote, facilitate and enforce provision of the regulatory Bylaws with an application of fairness and consistency.

DEPARTMENT

Bylaw Services is a department of the Community, Corporate and Protective Services Division.

HOW TO SUBMIT A COMPLAINT

Bylaw Services Department receives complaints by phone at 780-865-6009, by
fax at 780-865-3369 or by submitting an electronic form.

When issuing a complaint please ensure that a name, address, phone number and email address are included for follow-up contact by the officer.  As well, be sure to include as many facts as possible regarding the individual, the property and the incident.

All calls are confidential and your name will not be used.


ANIMAL CONTROL SERVICES
The Animal Control contract is held by Hinton Veterinary Clinic.  The contract provides for 20 hours of patrol per week plus 24 hour emergency resopnse.  Emergency response is considered where a dog or a cat imposes an immediate danger to the public.  Calls requiring the attendance of the Animal Control officer can be forwarded to 780.865.5181.  Inquiries or concerns regarding the Animal Control Bylaw or enforcement of the Bylaw may be directed to Bylaw Services at 780.865.6009.
