SCHEDULE
2010 Fall Pool Schedule
(Schedules are subject to change without notice)

POOL CLOSURE
The Pool at Dr. Duncan Murray Recreation Centre will be closed for upgrades and annual maintenance from August 2, 2010 to September 6, 2010.  We will re-open on September 7, 2010 for fall programming.

JUNIOR LIFEGUARD CLUB
The Lifesaving Society's Junior Lifeguard Club(JLC) accommodates 8 - 18 year olds of different abilities.  It provides high activity challenges in an energetic learning environment in the pool and on the deck.  Youth are encouraged to develop skills based on personal bests in swimming, lifesaving, fitness, knowledge, leadership and teamwork.  Community involvement and competition are also part of the program. This Lifesaving Society Program will begin in September. Registration for this club is ongoing and there is still space available! Children must be a minimum of 8 years old to register and must be able to comfortably swim 25 meters and tread water for 2 minutes.
LESSONS
In our Learn to Swim - Swim for Life Program, learning and evaluation of swimming skills is an ongoing process.  Your child's specific talents in coordination, physical strength, and comfort level in the water all have an impact on what your child can do and how quickly they learn.  Children will aquire these skills at their own rate and thus one or two sets of the same lesson may be necessary for your child to complete the swim level.  Each child will recieve a recognintion sticker or ribbon celebrating their success.  Recognition is based on participation and not a pass or fail of a skill item.  Please note that the number of lessons in each session may vary.  If you are wondering what level to put your child into please use the following Screening tool to help:Lifesaving Society Screening Skills.
