Fun Events for Everyone!


SKATE WITH SANTA & 12 DAYS OF FESTIVE FUN

Celebrate the 12 Days of Festive Fun at the Dr. Duncan Murray Recreation Centre!  Enter to win an active living prize every time you visit the Recreation Centre between December 20-31. It’s our way of saying thank you to our valued customers. 

Our festive fun kicks off with a Skate with Santa, Sunday December 20. The ice is decorated with Christmas magic and all activities at the Recreation Centre are free, including the Skate with Santa, swimming and courts.   Free refreshments and draw prizes – please bring a donation for the Food Bank.

23rd Annual WINTER MAGIC FESTIVAL

From February 12-21, 2010, the Town of Hinton helps coordinate a magical mixture of art, food, recreation and family fun events organized by community groups.  This 10 day winter celebration is a seasonal highlight and has been running for 23 years! 

We are currently seeking events to add to this year's line-up, click here for a event listing sheet.
We are also looking for volunteers to help build the festival's events.

DISCOVERY CAMP

Discovery Camp is a fun summer day camp program run by the Town of Hinton Community Services Division for children 6-12 years old.  The camp runs Monday to Friday from the beginning of July until mid August each year and registration begins in June.  Activities may include: whitewater rafting, rock climbing, drama and art, beach days, hiking, swimming and educational days.  Contact Holly LaRochelle at 780-865-6064 or hlarochelle@hinton.ca for more information.

TRIATHLON

The MountainView Triathlon is held yearly on the first Sunday of June for adults 16+.  All events are sanctioned by the Alberta Triathlon Association and include:  Sprint Triathlon, Olympic Triathlon, Olympic Team Triathlon and Duathlon.  Chip timing is used. 

The Kids Triathlon is held yearly the Saturday before the adult race and the emphasis is on participation and fun!  Go to www.mountainviewtri.com for full details and to register.
